Well, after months of neglect and problems with my blog, I have finally fixed it and happy to be able to post once again. Yes, I was sick of looking at that last post, too!
So a quick update... life is good here at the Johnson/Barrier household. It's been a busy summer, and I can't believe September is only weeks away. So much to do...
In just a few weeks Roy is going back to school at IUSB to update his credits toward a teaching degree. He finished the degree almost a decade ago, but because he now needs to apply for a teaching license, he has to take some refresher-type classes. It will take a full year, and then hopefully next fall he will be able to teach. He is such a brave guy.. the thought of taking 14 credit hours per week in chemistry and algebra makes me want to throw myself off a bridge, but he's actually looking forward to it.
My dear friend Angie is scheduled to have her baby on Sept. 22nd. She is nervous and excited all at once, and I'm so glad she's having a girl! It's been fun and insightful to be around her a lot through the pregnancy. Her shower was last weekend and went off without a hitch.
My other dear friend Rhianna is getting married in October and I am her maid of honor. I don't know what she was thinking when she penciled that in, but I am doing my best! I have dress fittings (ugh..) and shower invites and other various things to do. I can't believe how quickly it has come up.
Our trip to Europe in June was amazing. It's so hard to describe it to people.. there was so much to see, and not enough time or money in the world. Everyday I miss it and wish I was there. Roy and I had a great time together, and I didn't take nearly enough photos (since I was trying to keep up with Roy most of the time.) I can't wait to scrapbook the photos.. but since seeing all those amazing new products at CHA in July, I feel the need to wait for some of those to roll in before starting. A girls gotta have the latest and greatest supplies, you know!
QuicKutz has been a lot of fun. I've really enjoyed making the projects lately, and find that even shapes that I think I would never buy and aren't so sure about... I end up really liking a lot once I use them. It is a little tricky working on holidays months in advance.. that's where my wonderful and talented PIT friends come in handy with their amazing photos of their gorgeous kids!
CHA summer was at the end of July, and was fun and amazing even though it was smaller than I remember other shows being. I wish I could go to the next one in Las Vegas, but I'll be at Rhianna's wedding. Anyway, tons of great new product, ordered it all for PIT, drooling and waiting for it to come in!!
The Pages in Time Design Team continues to blow me away each month. Sometimes I cannot believe that so many talented women not only live in the same area, but are willing to be my friends! Recently we began adding pages from the DT to the new and improved PIT website.
Yard sale back in June went marvelously. I cannot believe the response we got, or the amount we raised! Now whenever Roy sees that I have brought home new scrapbook supplies, he immediately thinks "yard sale!" The funds we raised were used as spending money in Europe and really, really came in handy!
I start back to teaching classes at Pages in Time in September. I'm trying to take it easy and not overdo it, but it's tough when there are so many great products you want to use, and so many ideas bouncing around my head! Right now I'm working on my Notre Dame Mini Book for September and getting ready for monthly QuicKutz classes to resume. I love teaching and miss it a lot.. just need to remember that when I'm prepping for the classes at 2am the night before!!
That's about it, I guess! Here's my favorite photo from Europe.. the last one we took outside Schipol Airport in Amsterdam. So sad.. wish we were there!!!
That's all for now.. happy August!
jamie:)

YEAH, you updated your blog! High five girl! Looks like you had a blast in Europe! Can't wait to see more pictures (hint, hint). HUGS! Syb
